Wasted Weekend

I didn’t have much planned this weekend but there were things I wanted to do. I wanted to take advantage of the cooler weather we’ve had and go running with my friend Joan. I wanted to go to the gym and the farmer’s market. I wanted to get a new dress for my great uncle’s 90th birthday party next weekend. Did I do any of that? Negative. Instead I got to spend my weekend with these guys:

I didn’t feel well on Friday but I went to yoga after work anyway. I often will feel like I’m coming down with something but then it goes away. This time, it did not go away and I’ve had a nasty cold all weekend. I got absolutely nothing done and I spent the majority of the time either sleeping or watching Lifetime movies. Oh and Point Break, I watched Point Break yesterday too. I loved that movie when I was like 14.

This sucks. Not only do I still feel bad, but I feel like I wasted the entire weekend. I hope you guys had a better weekend than I did! I can live vicariously through other people, right? See, I told you I’m a total baby when I get sick.

Time for more Lifetime movies.

  1. oh no!!! I hope you feel much better!

  2. Ugh! So sorry that you’re feeling crappy, Lee. I hope that your rest and remedies will help soon!! Also, you’re definitely allowed to be a baby. I still wish for my mom when sick, haha. :)

    • I do too. My mom is on vacation right now and doesn’t have cell reception. Otherwise I totally would have called her.

  3. I don’t think a weekend counts as wasted when you’re sick, resting, and thus trying to improve your health through rest :) I understand, though. I wasted my day today thanks to feeling terrible after a bachelorette party last night, and I just keep thinking about how much I could’ve gotten done if only I’d thought through the weekend and the party beforehand. But mine is my fault, yours isn’t, so rest and feel much better!

    • Lol, I’ve had that sort of wasted weekend before too, trust me!

    • I was just skimming comments and planned to say the same thing…and just did say it to my mom who had a health scare last week. Resting is a good thing when you are under the weather…heck, even if you AREN’T sick!!

  4. Ugh. Sorry you’re sick. I always feel so guilty when I’m laid up on the couch for days at a time being sick. Hope you feel better soon lady.

  5. Awww, being sick in the summer is just not fair!!! I hope you feel better soon!

  6. Aw, Lee, I hope you feel better soon. Colds are the worst, because not being able to breathe out of my nose drives.me.crazy.

Lifetime movies are totally tear-jerkers, sometimes. I watched the William & Kate one and teared up at part of it. :)

  13. Aw, that sucks! I never know if being sick over the weekend is a blessing or a curse: On the one hand, you don’t have to take any sick days from work, but on the other hand, you miss the best part of the week!

  14. Lifetime movies are the perfect friend when you are sick. I hope you feel better soon!

  15. So sorry you aren’t feeling well! Feeling sick and unproductive at the same time is no fun…crossing my fingers you get better very soon!
