Dining Al Fresco

I didn’t mean to disappear like that. I got a new computer and migrating my applications and files from old to new took a while (especially since I did it incorrectly like three times).

Despite having to go to work on Monday, it really felt like a relaxing day for me. My race was over, I had no workouts looming on the horizon and it was warm out. So, despite the absurd amount of pollen in the air, Jason and I decided to dine al fresco.

I stopped at the grocery store on my way home from work and picked up some hot dogs – veggie dogs for me and turkey dogs for Jason – and some whole-wheat buns. Also beer.

While Jason grilled, I got everything ready. Murphy decided he wanted to sit at the table with us.

But then he got upset when we told him that he couldn’t have any food.

While the hot dogs were good, the pollen was out of control and made for a rather uncomfortable evening.

Still, there’s something carefree about grilling outside, even if it’s on a Monday and the pollen count is 9,000

  1. What kind of computer did you get?

  2. ok that looks delish. I do love a good hot dog! haha. Not the beer but even that looks tasty ;-) LOVE dinner outside!!

    • I only like certain beers – mostly hefeweizens (wheat beers). I prefer wine but wine and hot dogs didn’t feel quite right.

  3. Yay for the new computer! That’s always SO fun! Looks like a fun meal, minus the pollen.

  4. I got a new computer too! Crazy how much there is to transfer over and get it working with all the old stuff.

And Im so thankful that pollen doesn’t affect me. Now I will probably be eating my words and suddenly have horrendous allergies.

  5. What did you get? That’s so exciting!

This pollen is ridiculous. Thank god it is about to storm.

    • A MacBook Pro. It’s an older model from 2009, but it’s soooo much faster and better than my old computer.

  6. Yay for your new Macbook Pro! No more spinning ball of death!
Mine’s from ’06 and I’m going to try adding some ram to it to see if it helps. I hope so!
    Hey- are you vegetarian?

    • My old one was from 2007. This is a used one that we got off ebay from 2009, but it’s still wayyyyyy faster.

I am a pescatarian – I eat fish and seafood but no other meat. However, I do eat vegetarian meals a lot.

  7. Ahh so lovely. I’ve been dying to fire up the grill but we still haven’t yet…mostly because of the pollen. Maybe this weekend.
That pic of Murphy is hilarious!

  8. Always love the Murphy pics!! :) :) I wish we could have a grill, but my house is so old and has so much wood I’m scared I’d manage to burn it down somehow!

  9. I love eating outside, one of my favorite things in life. I wish I had a grill of my own to use, one of the downfalls of apartment living.

  10. I agree…grilling out is the such a good feeling. And much better when it isn’t 100+ degrees out like it normally is during grilling season in ATX.
