Celebration!

Last night, Jason and I went to a nice restaurant, Rathbun’s, for a celebration dinner.  Forgive the awful pictures, it was really dark in there.

We both got something from their daily specials.  I had grouper (I think, it was some sort of fish) with risotto…

and Jason went with the steak.

Our server recommended the banana peanut butter creme pie for dessert, so, even though we’re not typically restaurant dessert eaters, we went with it.

We both really enjoyed this restaurant and our meals.  But what were we celebrating?

Jason got a new job!!

And, it’s a Monday through Friday job.  I don’t know how to explain this other than saying that it’s kind of a life-changing thing.  I realize that sounds overly dramatic, but in the almost five years that we’ve been together, we’ve never been able to spend our weekends together.  People don’t seem to understand that Jason didn’t just have to work an occasional Saturday or Sunday.  He had to work EVERY Saturday and Sunday.  This meant that we could never do typical weekend things together, whether they were small like doing yard work, or bigger like going away for the weekend.  Every time I posted something where Jason was with me on a weekend, it was because he had actually taken it as a vacation day.  So, yeah, this is huge.  It’s like we can be a real married couple.  I did warn him that I typically take a long nap on Saturday afternoons!

This morning, even though he still has to go to his old job, pancakes were in order and we made Banana S’more Pancakes.

And I forgot how to focus the camera, apparently.
