Dinner with Jolene and Tina

I’ve spent the last day and a half at the Digital Summit, a digital marketing/social media conference.  I found out about the event a couple months ago and mentioned it to Jolene, since she does the social media for her company as I do for mine.  I was really excited when she told me that her company would pay for her to fly down to Atlanta and attend it!

The conference was interesting and provided some good takeaways, but the best part was afterward, when Jolene and I met Tina for dinner.  We went to Noche. I swear, I had only been to Noche (there are three different locations, I think) maybe three times before a few months ago.  Then suddenly it became my new favorite spot.  Funny how that happens.  Anyway, the Vinings location is close to where the conference was held, so I suggested it when we were trying to decide where to go.

Noche is primarily tapas.  It’s so nice to be with friends that eat similarly to how I do.  Going to a tapas restaurant can be difficult if the people that you go with have totally different eating styles.

We all started out with individual salads.  I had the Noche salad.

Then we got some plates to share.  Our server recommended the scallop special and I’m really glad we tried it.  It was my favorite thing.  We also got the marinated tuna.  I was a little surprised when this came out.  I was thinking it would be more like tuna steak or even tuna tartar, not like flaked tuna.  Canned tuna (not sure if this was canned, but it tasted like it) is actually something I really like, so I was fine with it.  Just not what I expected.

And we had garlic mushrooms.  Tina and Jolene split the bacon wrapped dates, which they loved, but I didn’t partake.

After we hung out for a while chatting, Yoforia, which was practically next door, was calling our name.  Never mind that it had gotten sort of chilly out.  We needed froyo!

Yoforia

Is it just me or has Yoforia raised their prices? It was delicious and totally worth it to spend time with these ladies.  Such a fun night.

  1. I was 2 seconds from stopping by Yoforia tonight… I think they put crack in that stuff. It’s addicting!

  2. I don’t question the cost of froyo…probably because I’m always blindsided with “ooooh froyo thoughts”. Then I always think “dang, that’s a lot for ice cream” when I pay.

And for next week – WF is fine by me if we can’t find a really compelling sushi place. I have never eaten at WF hot bar before so you could take my WF virginity.

    • Never eaten there?! That needs to change. The JC WF is really nice. Have you been to it? But we can still do sushi if we can find a place. I’ll look later today.

  3. SO much fun!! I totally wish I was there. The froyo and the dates look like the best things ever!!

  4. What a great get together! Small plates are the best. And you know I’m a froyo addict!

  5. Aww! Yay! This was so fun and the food was SO GOOD! Even the tuna, which I too thought would be different, but was still very tasty! The fro yo was SO GOOD! I was in heaven, I swear. I didn’t even notice the price, probably because I rarely get a chance to get any, so I was just enjoying every bite hehe ;-) It was so fun to come down and have someone to talk to at the conference for two days TOO!

  6. Sounds like a great time. I love when I find a restaurant I can go to over and over.

  7. YUM on the dinner- especially the yogurt!!
I only met Tina for a bit last weekend, but love her! I really need to come to ATL and hang out with you awesome girls. :)
