1. I made scones last night. I used this recipe and while they looked right, when they cooled off, they had more of a muffin texture. They were cake-like instead of crumbly. I think it’s because I used whipped butter instead of regular. They still taste really great though.
2. You know how sometimes you’ll wake up before the alarm and glance at the clock and it’s two minutes before the alarm is going to go off and that sucks? Well, today, I woke up and it was only 6:30 (I get up at 7:15) and I was anticipating a nice 45 minutes more of sleep when Murphy came bounding into the bed. He sleeps in the bed sometimes, but today, he decided not to sleep next to me, but to sleep on me. So, at 6:30 in the morning, my 60 lb dog decided it was most comfortable for him to lay directly on my legs. I tried to move and then he ended up sleeping between my legs. Argh.
3. I bought a new flavor of Sabra hummus. Consensus – it tastes like tuna salad. I didn’t know if it was just me, but Jason confirmed that the hummus does, in fact, taste like tuna. Good thing I like tuna.
4. A couple weeks ago, Carol recommended that I try a Body Works class since LA Fitness doesn’t offer Body Pump. I found out there was one at the gym by my house at 7 tonight, so I gave it a go. Success! I liked it. I have never done Body Pump before so I can’t tell you if it was similar or not, but it was a lot of light weights with high reps. We did a lot of core work in this particular class, but I get the feeling it’s different each time. At least I hope it is.
