I must have been channeling my 28 year old self that I wrote about in my last post because I stayed out until 2am last night. I seriously can’t tell you the last time that happened. It’s probably been years. A co-worker invited me and Jason out to dinner/drinks with some of her friends. We ended up at the Olde Blind Dog in Brookhaven. It was okay; it sort of reminded us of the Irish bar in New York, New York in Vegas.
This morning, I slept in until 11. Also something that hasn’t happened in years. Despite going out so late last night, I paced myself pretty well and drank lots of water, so I felt fine this morning. Originally, Jason and I planned to hike up Stone Mountain, but it was super humid out so we decided to take Murphy to the dog park instead.
Good thing about dogs is that they don’t mind if you post bad pictures of them on the internet. This picture cracked us up. Murphy, are you smoking something back there?

Murphy had fun at the park. He sniffed some butts…

chased some dogs…

and peed about 500 times.

Murphy was actually on his best behavior for some reason. He can be really, really hyper at the dog park and likes to chase other dogs and bite their butts. He’s playing, but the owners aren’t usually too thrilled. Fortunately, there was minimal butt bitting this afternoon.

We stayed at the park for about an hour. There were scary looking rain clouds, but the rain stayed away.

Murphy was sufficiently worn out. Apparently, walking to the car took too much effort. This was mid-walk.

It wasn’t the exercise that hiking up a mountain would have been, but it was a nice afternoon trip anyway. And I’m still shocked that I stayed out until 2 am.

BEST IDEA EVER to go to the dog park instead. We tried to do Stone Mountain today. It was torture. I don’t know if it was the humidity or WHAT…but it was not the day to go AT ALL. Every person we passed was talking about how miserable it was. Haha! We only made it halfway up!
Haha this post makes me want to get a dog even more!
We need to set up a doggie play date! I’m sure Mase won’t mind a little butt biting!
Yes to doggie play dates! Let me know when you want to go.
HAHAHA I love the choice to sit down on the way back to the car. Grady used to do that all the time on our walks! He doesn’t do well at dog parks, but I do love when I’m able to take him different places. Looks like you all had quite the fun day.
Hahaha…that picture of Murphy cracks me up
Ha! Yea, I definitely don’t stay out that late anymore either! I was shocked to have made it till 12:30 am at a wedding on Friday night
nicely done!
fun! Looks like Murphy really enjoyed it – wish my pups liked dog parks – they get really nervous and won’t play.
I went to a party last weekend expecting it to be a two-hour ordeal, and we ended up staying until 3 a.m. I was shocked I was able to stay upright that long! I never even stayed up that late this past weekend at a music festival. I like to be in before midnight almost always
It looks like Murphy had a great time. I love doggy pics.
So.stinkin.cute!! I love dog parks, but sometimes Abbott gets a little “wound up” and starts humping all the other dogs. Then we have to leave, and I’m embarrassed.
Haha. Murphy actually ends up being the one humped a lot! He just kind of is oblivious to it.
That picture of Murphy is great! So funny and cute. Glad you had a fun time!
That photo of Murphy in the car is hilarious! He looks like he had a blast at the dog park. Unfortunately, the dog parks near me tend to be really crowded, and there is always at least one agressive dog that just messes everything up (why bring an agressive dog to the park?!). It doesn’t help that Honey likes to run figure eights and get every dog chasing her, and Olive is still a puppy with mediocre social skills. I need a fenced in yard!
have you guys been to brook run dog park? its in dunwoody 3-4 acres and all wooded (which means shade for the humans). its awesome, we should meet up there some time!
Nope, never been there, but let me know if you ever want to meet up! Murphy would love to explore a new dog park.
Awww- he looks so happy!! I wish he could come play with my guys!
