I’ve seen this little survey going around and I thought, hey, I have nothing really interesting to write about tonight, why don’t I take it? So here it is:
1. Run/Workout in the heat and humidity or the freezing cold and snow?
Well, Atlanta is known for heat, hills and humidity…

so you’d think I’d be used to it by now, but I hate it. I’d much rather workout in the cold, though we don’t get as cold here, so maybe that has something to do with it. Although, Atlanta does get cold in the winter. Our temps are probably in the 30s or 40s in January. The thing about the cold weather is that you can always put on more layers, but when it’s hot, well you can’t really do anything more except take off your shirt and I am not going to take off my shirt! Plus you get warmer when you run anyway.

That’s me and my friend Sean at a half-marathon in Charlotte. It was cold.
2. Have washboard abs or flat abs?
Honestly, I’ve never had either and I don’t really think I ever will. That said, I think flat would be more achievable.
3. Dr. Oz or the Doctors?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen either. I have to be at that place called work when they’re on. I think.
4. Cardio or Strength?
Cardio, specifically running.

5. Cravings: protein or carbs?
Carbs, although I do like protein too.

6. Jillian Michaels or Bob Harper?
I think the Biggest Loser is incredibly boring so I don’t know much about either as far as that show is concerned. However, I’ve read one of Jillian Michaels’ book, Mastering Your Metabolism, and I liked it, so I’ll go with her.
7. Frozen yogurt or ice cream?
Frozen yogurt. I also like low-fat ice cream treats like Skinny Cows and I don’t care that they’re highly processed. Everyone has their vices. Full-fat ice cream tastes too rich to me.

8. To train: Upper Body or Lower Body?
Upper, although I have a somewhat difficult time putting on muscle.

9. Protein powder or in food?
Food for sure. I will sometimes put protein powder in a smoothie, but I very rarely make protein shakes and that sort of thing.
10. Lunges or squats?
They are both equally terrible, but I think lunges are worse. So squats.
11. Sweet or salty?
See question 7.
12. Workout attire: cute or comfy?
I wear a bunch of old race t-shirts when I workout, so definitely comfy.

13. Body Pump or Heavy Lifting?
My gym doesn’t offer Body Pump so I don’t know for sure but I’m guessing this question is asking if you prefer light weights with lots of reps or heavy weights with lower reps? Honestly, ever since I hurt my back in May, I’ve been lifting a bit lighter.
14. Yoga or Pilates?
I don’t do either regularly, but I like them both.
15. Nike or Adidas?
I haven’t run in a pair of either in years (I usually wear New Balance and Brooks) but as far as workout gear, I have both.
16. Running on the treadmill or outdoors?
Outdoors, but I don’t hate the treadmill as much as some people do. I ran nine miles on one once!
17. Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s?
Don’t make me choose!

Is it sad that I have pictures of both stores on my phone? Don’t answer that.
18. Summer or Winter Olympics?
I like both.
19. Wine or beer?
Wine. Preferably sauvignon blanc.
20. Steamed or Roasted Veggies?
Definitely roasted.
Okay, that took way longer than writing a regular post!

I loved reading this on Tina’s blog and now on yours! Little tidbits of goodness
I agree re flat abs vs. washboard! And TJ’s vs Whole Foods? Such a tough call. On price? TJs though, gotta say. and now I’d like some frozen yogurt! Or a skinny cow hehe.
I always think quizzes take longer… but I forget that until I’m actually completing one. Doh.
You should come do weights with me one day!
I laughed at the end, because it always takes me longer to finish a survey than a regular post too. =) And you and I have the same feelings about the heat and humidity in Atlanta. Come to COLORADO!! =)
So fun!
Tony and I attempted a run outside yesterday…we did 1 mile and then took it to the gym. I don’t mind the heat as much, but the humidity feels like I’m trying to breathe under water.
I hate to say it Lee- but if I was just going by this survey, I’d say “whoa, we are so different!”
I LOVE the Biggest Loser- I’ve watched every season (although I admit that one or two seasons were not so interesting)- and LLOOOOOVE Bob. I also love Master Your Metabolism- it’s what made me kick my Splenda habit 3 years ago.
And I love full-fat ice cream. And fro yo. And um, any dessert in general.
Nooooo.
I’ve attempted several survey posts like this before that I never finish and never post because I’m so slow at them. I liked this one though and totally agree with you on the carbs. I could really go for some pizza right now.
I’m a wine girl myself too
I like sauvignon blanc or a nice Chardonnay.
I am always so impressed by how far you can run on the treadmill. I feel I never go long enough because I’m staring at the clock and it moves so slowly…
Glad someone else thinks the biggest loser sucks!
Running is my favorite form of cardio. Like you, I just can’t take the heat & humidity.
This is so fun! I’m a heat and humidity gal all the way! No cold for me…brrr!
You’re such a diplomat!
I don’t mind the treadmill that much either. I can really zone out on it sometimes. I ran a half on it once. That wasn’t fun.
