Pinning from the Bottom

I have a bit of a Pinterest problem.  All I seem to do is pin and the majority of my pins are recipes.  While I do make the recipes, about two a week, as I keep pinning, the recipes keep getting pushed down into no man Pinterest land.  You know, where it takes a minute for the site to fetch the pins.  So, I thought that instead of making things that I’d recently pinned, I’d go to the bottom of my page and make things that I pinned a year or more ago.

Fried quinoa

Tonight’s dinner was one of those pins.  This was Fried Quinoa and it was absolutely delicious.  I followed the recipe as directed, only I used just two eggs instead of four.  Yum.  I would definitely make this again.  Tasted like Chinese food and was super easy to make.

I also made a dish that I took to work for lunch today.

Tuna bean salad

This was tuna and bean salad, or rather a variation on it.  And by variation, I mean, I skipped the oil, onion and cucumber.  It was good nonetheless, but I am always a big fan of canned tuna.  It’s risky taking it to work when you work in cube-ville, but no one complained about the smell.  I personally sort of think tuna smells good, but I know that’s kind of weird.  Also, I apparently forgot how to focus my camera.

So I also made another Pinterest recipe but I didn’t like it so you don’t get to hear about that one.

Are you on Pinterest?

  1. I suffer from the same affliction. Maybe I need to start doing this too… after I make that tuna salad! Yum!

  2. I am not on pineterest. I just haven’t made that leap yet. Of all of the social media outlets, I actually prefer fb. I like the flow and I like that I can go back to things easily. Pineterest just seems like a time suck of bookmarks that I would never get back to.

  3. I need to follow your lead. I pin SO MANY recipes and have maybe made ONE of them so far. How sad is that?? So many goodies in there too! The fried quinoa looks good — and um, now I want tuna for lunch, I think I will after seeing your lunch. hehe. I agree -it can be risky to bring that into work (or egg salad, another fave of mine) but it’s so good and it sticks with me given all that protein!

  4. Yum!! What a great idea, scroll to the bottom and pick a recipe! I started going through mine for some ideas too!! These look awesome!

  5. I tend to only pin food that is really beautiful and complicated and I would never make for myself. I do have a huge backlog of recipes in a folder on my bookmarks bar though that I should probably wade through. Of course they’re mostly desserts though.

  6. You always find the best recipes!!!

  7. I have a pinterest problem too! Except my main problem is that I’ve never made a SINGLE recipe that I’ve pinned. So lame.

  8. I always forget about Pinterest. I love it, but it overwhelms me!!

  9. I can’t go on pinterest because I always get so hungry. LOL.

  10. I have just never gotten the Pinterest bug! I belong to it, but rarely ever use it – and I’m sure that I could find about 1000 things that I NEED on there… I just always forget it exists! This is a good thing though- I spend way too much time on Instagram and reading blogs.
